Harold Manning has more than 40 years experience in accounting, tax and auditing. His field of expertise includes governmental (primarily special districts), school districts, not-for-profit organizaitons, and for-profit entities.
Harold started his accounting career with Deloitte in Seattle, Washington. While in Washington he also managed two audit departments for other accounting firms. The leap to California introduced him to Burkey & Cox and partnership in 1983. In 2001 he took over the Ridgecrest-China Lake Office, which he ran under his own name until 2011. In 2012 Harold has come full circle with the firm and is now in the Antelope Valley office.
Harold was elected to the Fife High School Board in Washington. He was appointed by the Governor to the 53rd District Agricultural Association in Ridgecrest, California. He was elected to the Indian Wells Valley Water District in Ridgecrest, and he served on the board of various not-for-profit organizations over the years.
“The best part of public accounting is the ‘public’ part,” said Harold. “I have always enjoyed meeting different people and learning about them and their businesses.”
Harold hails from the State of Washington. He is married, has two step-children and three grandchildren. He enjoys antique cars, theatre and dance. Together with his wife, Rancy, he has taught ballroom dance classes.
